Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Brown the ground beef in a 10-inch skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess grease. Stir in the taco seasoning and ½ cup water and simmer for about 5 minutes, until the mixture thickens slightly. Stir the cheese into the taco meat and let the filling cool for a few minutes.
Arrange the crescent rolls. Unroll both cans of dough and separate them into 16 triangles. Arrange the triangles on a large ungreased baking sheet with the wide ends overlapping in the center, leaving about a 5-inch opening. The pointed ends should face outward, almost like a sunburst. Pro Tip: Place a small bowl in the center of your sheet pan and arrange your crescent rolls around that. It helps to ensure you get a perfect circle every time. Remove the bowl before baking.
Add the filling. Spoon the taco meat and cheese mixture evenly over the overlapping, wide ends of the crescent rolls.
Form the ring. Bring each pointed end up and over the filling and tuck it underneath the inside edge of the ring to hold it in place. Continue all the way around the ring. It's fine if a little of the filling shows between the crescents. Brush with egg wash, if using.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and baked through. Let the taco ring rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with your favorite taco toppings.

Notes
1. Use a large baking sheet or pizza pan. You’ll want space to build that classic ring shape—placing a small bowl or ramekin in the center can help you achieve a symmetrical circle.2. Use parchment paper on your baking sheet if you want to easily transfer it to a platter.3. Brown your ground beef well. (or substitute ground turkey or chicken) Get a good sear on your ground beef before adding taco seasoning. Drain any extra grease to keep the ring from getting soggy. Let the meat cool.4. Don’t overfill the crescent triangles. Stick to about 1–2 tablespoons of filling per triangle so it wraps easily and bakes evenly.5. Tuck and pinch the dough well. Pull the triangle tips over the filling and tuck them under the inner edge. Pinch the sides so it doesn’t burst open while baking.6. Brush with egg wash. A quick brush of beaten egg gives your taco ring that shiny, golden finish.7. Serve with toppings in the center. After baking, load the center with any of your favorites: shredded lettuce, tomatoes, olives, guacamole, and sour cream, and be sure to have salsa for dipping.
