S'mores Crostata

S'mores crostata, galette, or pie. Whatever you call it, call it delish! Oven-baked s'mores goodness.
Prep time: 15 MinCook time: 50 MinTotal time: 1 H & 5 M

Ingredients

  • 1- store-bought pie dough (I use Pillsbury)
  • 1 Tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons sugar, plus 1 teaspoon to sprinkle on crust
  • 6-8 oz chocolate I used Hershey's, broken into pieces
  • 3 graham crackers, crumbled
  • 7 large marshmallows
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • Graham cracker crumbs or honey for garnish (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Unroll the crust, and place on a greased baking sheet. Go gently to avoid tearing. If it doesn't roll easily, let it warm up to room temp for a bit.
  3. Brush dough with melted butter.
  4. Combine cinnamon and 2 teaspoons of sugar in a small bowl and sprinkle over the dough
  5. Top dough with chocolate pieces leaving a 1½ inch border to fold over.
  6. Next, sprinkle dough with crumbled graham crackers
  7. Fold the edges up and crimp dough to overlap the crust, it needs to stick together.
  8. Beat the egg and brush the crust edges with the egg.
  9. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of sugar generously on the edges.
  10. Bake in the oven for 20- 30 minutes until the crust is golden brown. (Ovens vary, but the crust needs to be lightly golden and not too brown because we are going to broil it to melt the marshmallows)
  11. Remove from the oven and place the marshmallows on the chocolate.
  12. Turn the oven to broil and broil until marshmallows are toasted and golden brown. Watch out; this goes quickly.
  13. Let the crostata cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve at warm or at room temperature.
  14. Garnish with a drizzle of honey or graham cracker crumbs.

Notes

• The chocolate will be really warm and gooey but not completely melted. Just like campfire s' mores. • You can substitute mini marshmallows for the larger ones.
